“You’ve lost your mind”, “What are you thinking”, “You’re moving to Oregon to raise, what?” These are some of the things we heard when we decided to leave LA for a better life and learning experience. Since, 1992 we have been raising and enjoying our alpacas along with building lasting friendships and a profitable business. As in any business, there are ups and downs, but the rewards from these animals over power any negativity that might occur. For example, the arrival of a new cria, the kiss from one of the boys or girls, or the pronking around in the pasture on a warm summer’s evening, will set your mind at ease. Maybe even the check from a sale. The ranch has gone though a total metamorphous since we got here. Shelters popped up as needed and the 14 acre diary farm changed to an alpaca resort. Things always need to be done around here but we always make it part of our routine that we inter-act with all the animals daily. We continue to stay educated with seminars and literature, so that when asked by a new breeder or perspective client, we can elaborate the about the joy and beauty of the alpaca life style. There’s a lot more to this story and we would love to tell you about it. So, come on by and stay awhile, sip some wine, stay in the new quest quarters if you like, relax and become active with all of our animals. (Poop scooping!!)
